Game was just as fun and interesting as the trailers made it out to be. Its fluid, satisfying, and every new power you unlock changes how you approach every fight. The character designs were great and so were the characters themselves for the most part. Now for the bad. As much as I enjoy the bond episodes the methods of unlocking them feel a bit repetitive and annoying which then detracts from experience of the bond episode. The enemy designs were pretty cool, but most of the enemies are variants of the base version so at times they would feel kinda lame. The side quests (there are around a little over 60 if you do both storylines) are very simple, very mid, and very repetitive. The rewards they offer aren't worth very much and are clearly implemented to take up time. That's the case for most games side quests, but its at its worse in this game and is certainly its biggest shortcoming. Onto the most conflicting part; the story. The story starts off very strong. Starting off setting up the world and the characters and it gets even stronger throughout the rest of the game with the crazy lore details. Unfortunately the last few chapters weren't as enjoyable due to the story getting immensely convoluted. Overall a VERY great hack and slasher with a very solid story with a few very annoying shortcomings that were implemented just to raise play time.

Le côté ‘anime’ très prononcé ne plaide pas non plus en sa faveur et les graphismes très lisses sont très quelconques.Comme d’habitude (encore !), on ne peut pas sauvegarder manuellement mais uniquement à des points spécifiques dans ce pseudo-monde cyber-esprit-punk de pacotille ; la musique Bontempi est à se pendre (un supplice !) et surtout, le système de combat est complètement con et implique l’usage décérébré de cons-bos à la con comme dans les jeux de baston japonais à la con (pléonasme).On sent également bien vite qu’on va devoir farmer moult de ces combats bidons et désordonnés ad nauseam. Scarlet Nexus is an absolutely solid action-RPG title. The story might get too complicated for its own good, but the characters keep things interesting. Having to revisit the same environments multiple times can get tedious, but the combat is enjoyable throughout due to the new abilities afforded to you by the constant leveling and party member changes. It is a fun romp overall, with enough of a reason to revisit it after completion. Scarlet Nexus is a game that anime fans will thoroughly enjoy.

In addition to battles that are as good-looking as they are tactical, we also get charismatic characters, a captivating story, and a well-developed universe. Unfortunately, both the story and the battles stumble upon themselves at times - and the environments often leave a lot to be desired. But despite the shortcomings, Scarlet Nexus is a surprisingly successful mix of action and JRPG – and a must have for anyone who wants an action game with a focus on story and depth.

I think that’s the story… if youre not intogovernemnt conspiracy, half this game.. this is now an 8 hour action jrpg that thankfully is a blast to play though.. you have telekenisis and a sword, you cn slic enemies up as well as throw objects and use the environment to do massive damage, as you progress the game youll unlock new abilities.. which seems to never stop, tutorials will pop up literally the entirety of the games campaign, but as you make it through th story, more charcters will join your party and youre able to borrow their powers as you take on these moon cratures known as others, you can use fire powers, invisiblity, dashing, electric, super speed, dashing, and work up your skill tree to the point that you can stack these abilities, all on cool down.. this is when the game is at its best, taking down enemies and bosses… is the gameplay good enough to justify a purchase on its own though? No.Scarelt nexus is insaley repeitve, youre just goin around these very Japanese game styled maps, getting locked ito areas, clearing them and moving on.. youll see a lot of repeat areas, not even counting the optional bonding missions you can do with each of this games characters, so youll rarely come to a cool new area being begged to explore and even if you did there is no exploration incetive, the gear and weapons here are awful, you wont find new wepons, you just by them from a shop that thankfully just shows up in these dungeons, you don’t have to fast travel to a hub or wait until a mission is over to buy consumables, but these 5 weapons for each charcter you buy just will show up the deeper you get into the game, and you buy them and equip them, that sabout as deep as the loot system goes..If th sound of a government conspiracy trying to steel the brains of these kidswith crazy powers doesn’t excite you, there is no reason to pick this one up..While I found the story to be painfully slow, drawn out, and boring, others are liking it, and for those people, scarlet nexus offers a good package, and a 16 plus hours youll really enjoy, you might even enjoy it enough to play it twice for both sides of the story,for me, I could barely manage the story the first time aroundI give Scarlet Nexusa 7/10

Gameplay is amazing but it gets even better as you unlock more and more skills as you play the game. Your squad’s abilities are the biggest strength in the gameplay and as you increase your bonds with them (that’s right there’s a bond system in this game!) you’ll unlock even stronger abilities. Story is definitely the surprising factor as it not only boasts great characters but a very interesting plot. It’s much better than what we were told! Artstyle, graphics and environments are all stellar and I truly believe this is one of the best games to release this year. Bandai really delivered with this game and I hope we see more of this franchise

Scarlet Nexus is arguably one of Bandai Namco's best games. Its deep combat system and a plot that makes you want to know more at every turn make the game a highly recommended product for fans of the ARPG genre.

Finally a good game again, I don't want to spoil anything about the story so I won't get much into that part but this game is a lot of fun andFinally a good game again, I don't want to spoil anything about the story so I won't get much into that part but this game is a lot of fun and since the release of Nioh 2 in late 2019 the first one that makes me also want to play it again every day.The controls are smooth, the combat is deep and fast paced and very responsive compared to most modern games who just live from graphics but then have clunky gameplay with slow moving main characters. This one has zero input lag, it's very fast paced and the combat is very deep as well. It comes with three difficulty modes, and I have only tried the default difficulty so far, which is quite ok to enjoy the game in general with a good balance. I will surely try the hard mode after the first run because I personally like challenging games that really feel like a challenge and not like the difficulty is faked by making your character move like a snail, which this game doesn't do at all, rather the contrary, your character is fast and has a lot of fighting options so if there is a challenge you can be sure it's not the slowed down character cheap trick many "hard" games use to fake difficulty.The story so far is also very good and entertaining, for my personal tastes sometimes can feel a little bit too long between the action parts of the game but since you can read the subtitles (I play this game of course in japanese with subtitles) you can press X to move to the next dialogue line as soon as you've read the subtitle in case you don't feel like waiting for too long until you can get some action again, and even skip the whole scene with the options button, which I wouldn't recommend in the first run because the story is quite good, there is even an anime on this game that started emitting recently.So, if you like real fast paced games with very responsive controls and games like NieR Automata or Nioh for their great combat systems and stories I would definitely recommend this one too, if you're a casual who plays mainstream games with very simple mechanics and a combat pace slow enough for you to have time to react then might be this is not for you.

It is difficult to adapt at first but once you learn it is one of the best combat systems you will have tried. Very explosive and looks great. The story, although convoluted in which you can't get lost for a second of the plot, is quite well done. The variety of characters and their abilities are exceptional, with an emphasis on Kagero, Gemma, Hanobi, and Kasane. I also love that there are strong women in the game who are not dependent on what the voice of a man or leader says, unlike the Persona saga, which is excessively submissive and romantic. The bad thing that I find in this game is how heavy the social links were and the somewhat poor and repetitive design of some scenarios. Yuito's story completed in 35 hours, with an intense and emotional ending. Now I'll play Kasane's. The game is worth every euro spent.

Obviously, your enjoyment of Scarlet Nexus will likely be greater if you actually do enjoy anime (or maybe not – or all I know, this game’s story may be horrifically bad!). But if you’re indifferent to the genre, you shouldn’t let that stop you from enjoying a very fun action game.

If you enjoy an ARPG, spending time with Scarlet Nexus is a no-brainer - the story and action is strong enough to suck you in and keep you playing. With time travel, psychic powers and huge monsters to kick in the teeth, it’s one hell of a roller coaster ride from start to finish. The slight let-downs of the side quests aside, this is a more than assured entry into the genre, that wholeheartedly deserves a whirl.

Even with some technical issues that the game is suffering from, Scarlet Nexus is still great and entertaining, and it can become one of the best JRPG/Hack 'n' Slash games if it can reach its true potential.

Despite its drawbacks and anime quirks, Scarlet Nexus can’t hide the fact that is a product made with love and care. Although it stands a bit in the niche side of things due to its full-blown anime characteristics, the story is solid and the combat system fun and unique. Definitely more robust than Code Vein, Scarlet Nexus can be a fun medium while waiting for Bandai Namco’s big hitters, Tales of Arise and Elden Ring.

You hunt monsters, make yourself and your allies stronger, gather resources for making new cosmetics and gear, constantly unlock new features for inside and outside of combat, all that while you watch an interesting story materialize in front of your eyes. It really is a modernized, old-school adventure which will satisfy anyone, even with the few drawbacks it has and the rather slow beginning.

The option of playing the second main character, which boasts a different story direction, would be the perfect remedy if not for the other areas of the game falling short. If you like the sound of a deep RPG with extensive combat mechanics, Scarlet Nexus shouldn’t disappoint. If you are expecting something more akin to Devil May Cry, you might find the extensive storytelling gets in the way of the gameplay a little too much. With that said, you can still enjoy it if you’re not an anime connoisseur. There’s plenty of fun to be had for all players because it’s great once it gets going – but I fear it might lose people in its opening few hours.

What Scarlet Nexus lacks in character development and story, it more than makes up for with its excellent combat system, which has some of the best representations of superpowers in modern gaming.

Scarlet Nexus is one of the most interesting new JRPGs that we’ve seen in a while from a big publisher. Combining a beautifully elegant, but also visceral combat system with rich and evocative theme, and hugely entertaining characters, this game is available on the previous generation, I know, bit in design and execution it’s very much the perfect new-generation experience.

Described by its developers as a title in the “brainpunk” genre, I've come to think of Scarlet Nexus as a mixture of the likes of Bayonetta, Code Vein and Persona, at some times deliciously chaotic and at others frustratingly so.

Scarlet Nexus is a big hit when it comes to the action. With its nervous and supercharged fights, you quickly become powerful controller in hand, especially when you can borrow the power of your allies on the fly. This action is helped by framerate which does not falter on next-gen consoles despite the deluge of effects on the screen which can cause readability concerns. If the proposed universe is visually attractive, we regret not being able to enjoy it anymore because of a cruel lack of additional content. Ditto for the story which is certainly interesting but which is served by a more than minimalist staging. A good first draft which, we hope, will serve as a solid basis for a more ambitious sequel in the years to come.

Who’s to say what the real, developer-side cause is for Scarlet Nexus’ failings. What was already a mammoth undertaking in crafting a competent-enough hack-and-slash action game that could muscle its way into the spotlight, Bandai Namco’s latest in-house creation is not just inadequate in appeasing long-time fans of the genre, but worse, comes across ignorant of its own player’s time.

Filled to the brim with visual novel conversations and over-the-top action, Scarlet Nexus is a surprisingly endearing game that might be more linear than people expect, but more compelling than it probably needed to be.

The combat in Scarlet Nexus is no doubt the star of the show. Even when it becomes hard to take the narrative seriously, those sweet, sweet combat mechanics will pull you right back in, no matter which protagonist you choose.
