Rising Hell is een verticale-actie roguelike met heavy-metal door de aderen. Rising Hell is ontstaan uit het onzalige huwelijk tussen Indonesische indie gamestudio's. Het is ontwikkeld door Tahoe Games en uitgegeven door Toge Productions.
Rising Hell plaatst je in de ketenen van Arok, een zondaar met een mysterieuze kracht om demonen te doden. Vecht je een weg door de horde van Belial en ontsnap uit de hel terwijl je nieuwe personages en talenten vrijspeelt om chaos te creëren in het willekeurig gegenereerde en steeds veranderende landschap van de hel.
Heavy-metal riffs en pixelachtige waanzin begeleiden je terwijl je je een weg vecht uit de diepten van de vurige hel, waarbij je het opneemt tegen de door insecten geteisterde Beelzebub's Lair en andere krochten van de hel met verschillende wezens, eindbazen en levende vallen die op de loer liggen. Combo's, springmanoeuvres en talentopbouw zijn de sleutel om je een weg uit de hel te banen in deze adrenalineverhogende verticale platformgame.

Overall Rising Hell is a fun experience. The three different characters and the large number of talents and relics give the game some needed depth and variety, although the unlock system is too stingy. The unique hellbreak move gives the game a fast-paced arcadey feel, but other elements really slow it down, like the awkward movement. The pixel hell that was created for the game does look stunning, and for the price of $10 US, I think it’s definitely worth a try for roguelite fans, or if you’ve ever wanted to try climbing a tower full of demons while headbanging.
Rising Hell is a fun, challenging roguelite that is perfect for those with a full schedule. It’s not as expansive as some of the other roguelites available, but it’s still a great bit of fun and well worth a buy if you are looking for something new to try.
