It was the best feature in my opinion. Then we saw the trailer for This game and got extremely excited and bought it. We honestly should've researched it more but we assumed the most unique feature the game had was going to stay, oh how we were very wrong. They did away with not only our favorite feature of muilitple pilots but the fighting mechanics felt way different to, to be fair the mechanics were made better to make fighting more exciting but me and my friend just didnt like the feel of it as much anymore. The game fine but we personally dont like it due to removal of certain features.

I said Override 1 was great and I still think it is. There was a real charm to it despite not being the most polished experience; I had just wished that there was more single player content. I also assumed that maybe some licensed content would bring in a crowd but clearly, I was wrong as Ultraman DLC seemingly failed to bring people in. I’m really disappointed, as the mech design is just so good but this game is so boring. I think Override 2 killed all the goodwill I had from the first game; I really don’t care to try out a half-baked single player game attached to a dead multiplayer game again. It works fine and that’s the best I can say about this game.

As a game viewed independently from platform, Override 2 is a functional if not exceptional arena fighter that is brimming with charm and strong visual design. As a Switch game, it has a few too many rough edges to strongly recommend. It isn’t downright bad; this version just doesn’t carry with it any of Override 2’s strengths, leaving you with an ugly arena fighter that struggles to find originality or unique mechanics.

While fans of the original might be turned off from the drastic combat changes, what I will say is that it feels much more accessible, as my daughter was able to easily jump in and start doing cool moves without having to memorize a bunch of inputs. While this opens it up to a larger audience, it by no way feels even remotely balanced and usually degrades into who’s spammed special moves can outperform the others spammed move sets.

Simply put, Override 2: Super Mech League would have benefited from having more content. It feels rushed, and I cannot help but think the developers were forced into meeting a release deadline. Granted, what we do have is a smooth, and functioning game; but it’s a half-finished one that doesn’t have much of a player base, at all. Modus Games dropped the ball here and I have a hard time recommending Override 2: Super Mech League to anyone.

While making the giant robots the focus of the sequel is a good start, it doesn’t make up for the shortfalls in the gameplay loop and certain design choices carried over from the first game.

Override 2 practically omitted the campaign mode. The obligatory single player experience is nothing more than a meager from zero to hero story, and the game focuses on the battles. This could've been a good thing if the battles happened to be more daring.

There isn’t much positive to say about OverRide 2: Super Mech League. Although the game provides a diverse cast of characters, it also provides a mostly online centric experience while lacking a playerbase to make it work. The graphics look relatively nice running on the Xbox Series X, however, the gameplay is extremely clunky and unrefined, especially when it comes to the awkward trigger-centric control scheme. The campaign is relatively non-existent and mostly serves as a tutorial to teach players important game mechanics. All-in-all, OverRide 2: Super Mech League is a disappointing brawler experience.

Override 2: Super Mech League changes the formula for the story mode from its predecessor in a way that isn’t my favorite. That doesn’t take away from the stunning visuals this 3D brawler gives us. Unfortunately it seems Override 2: Super Mech League was banking on online play and I had a tough time finding opponents. Luckily bot matches can supplement our need to finish sponsor tasks but ultimately the game could use a bit more life.

Override 2: Super Mech League truly flourishes when four friends can play together at the same time. It would be even better in the same room, but unfortunately, that's impossible for the time being. The online matchmaking holds up well through this setup, however, and you can definitely feel the hours melting away when you really get into the groove of things. It's just fun to beat up giant robots!

Great mech design and accessibility cannot save Override 2: Super Mech League from it’s weightless, lifeless gameplay. The maps often come across as too small, leading to cluttered fights that really affect the games flow.

Override2: Super Mech League is a game that has a good foundation but fails to take it anywhere exciting. The actual battles, even against computer bots, are initially fun and satisfying and become less so the more one plays. There’s plenty of character variety but once one or two are mastered there’s little drive to get to understand more. The lack of human players to battle online is an even bigger issue. The game needed to have cross-platform play between most if not all its launch platforms to maintain a community. It might also have been better to launch the game as free-to-play with a smaller roster and to then deliver paid extra options, once a group of players became fans. Maybe a future title in the series can focus on creating a community first, to make the mech fighting concept the successful brawler it can be.

Override 2: Super Mech League has many of the pieces that would make it work as a full package, but when the oversized mechs actually go to battle, it becomes a shallow, unrewarding shell of its potential.

The core of it is basic but solid. Ultimately, though, it’s let down by League mode which becomes a repetitive slog way too quickly. It’s also disappointing that you can’t easily party up with friends in any mode other than Versus, where you’re stuck fighting against each other or the CPU. If you find solace in repetition, or have a group of friends that regularly get together and would enjoy some mech-based mayhem, definitely consider picking it up. Otherwise, you might want to give it a miss and see if it’s improved further down the line.

The campaign mode is amusing enough but not really worth the price of admissions alone. Battling against other players is more fun, provided you can find opponents. Still, there’s a certain thrill to seeing giants battling it out, especially if you pick up the Ultraman DLC. This Switch version has some performance issues when the action gets hot, but it’s not unplayable or anything. Probably not the optimal way to play, though.

Override 2: Super Mech League is a great local and online multiplayer 3D brawler. With a ton of moves, a huge roster of cool and unique characters, and flashy special effects, Override 2 offers hours of fun. Go into the game with the knowledge that the online implementation is somewhat limited, with no cross-platform or cross-generation play. But when battling friends at home or online, Override 2 can’t be beat.

While its visual environment might impress at first, the gameplay israther limited due to the lack of single player options and absence ofenough players to allow for a varied online experience, not to mentionthat the performance on the Nintendo Switch is far from stellar and thecontroller input lag can make things more frustrating. All in all,Override 2: Super Mech League lost a good chance to make a name foritself.

It’s very limited in it’s fighting mechanics, game modes and there’s no huge addictive quality bringing you back time and again for more. If you’re looking for a 3D-looking Smash Brothers-style fighting game that’s simply not as good as that Nintendo classic then try this. But as much as I wanted to smash up giant robots with my own mech monster, the limitations of Super Mech League left me cold.

Override 2 certainly has issues, but the core of the game is solid, playable, and a ton of fun. The action can be frustrating to track, but the feel of combat is excellent and the diversity of characters rivals the best of classic versus fighting games.

Override 2: Super Mech League is a vast improvement from its predecessor, with a great, varied roster (and more Ultraman characters in the future!), revamped combat system, and some gorgeous combat. The base game is currently half the price of a full-priced last generation title, so you should pick it up if you and your friends want some building-sized destructive fun.

Whilst it can degenerate into a box-ticking exercise, combat in Override 2: Super Mech League excels when against other human players. The action holds plenty of weight and the unpredictability does make each fight feel like a challenge. Against bots, that element feels completely removed and more routine. Presentation is handled well with some varied and colourful arenas that always add options to combat. There's a more complete game here that should keep players more engaged.

Override 2 has a lot to offer prospective players. From its satisfying, enjoyable combat to its varied, colorful stages and mode options, the game has everything it needs. Except for people playing it.

Override 2: Super Mech League really should have been a fun and accessible party brawler. It certainly had the basics covered with accessible controls and a vibrant roster of characters on offer. Unfortunately an ineffective 3rd person camera, non-existent online matchmaking, weak league mode and a stifling lack of variety to its gameplay marks Override 2 a long way short of being the Mechtacular fighter we all wanted it to be. More 'Meh'tacular then.

If you’re a diehard fan of city-stomping robots, Override 2: Super Mech League’s combat will surely keep your attention for a while. It is a great looking game with some stellar robot designs, but that only does so much. With nothing more than samey online fights again and again, this is a game that will rust up sooner rather than later.

The AI is so horrible programed that it's just easy to win, even against a Pro AI. Combos aren't even connectng. Bellona is the only mech I fairly enjoy and ultra man is just basic.

Override 2: Super Mech League can be a lot of fun at its best as a mech brawler, but is ultimately pretty light on content and depth as far as its characters and combat.

Override 2: Super Mech League is fun on a multiplayer level and we'll really enjoy it with friends. Correct and enjoyable if you manage to get into its competition dynamics but with several errors that keep it from the best fighting games.

Override 2 shows great character design in its twenty (plus Ultraman as a DLC) giant robots, and the combat system is simple, yet fun. But the game has some technical flaws and the enemy A.I. is poor.

Override 2: Super Mech League is a great sequel, and by removing Mech City Brawl’s more tedious elements, Modus Games have created a thoroughly enjoyable 3D brawler. With more refined gameplay, improved performance, and a great roster of mechs, this isn’t a simple rehash of the original. Though Leagues can be repetitive in solo play and it holds infrequent performance issues, there lies a fun multiplayer experience here for Kaiju fans that comes highly recommended.
