Left 4 Dead 2 CD Key is een shooter coöperatief first person spel en is "Left 4 Dead's" vervolg. Het werd uitgebracht op 17 november 2009 in de VS voor Xbox 360 en MS Windows en in Europa op 20 november 2009. Mac OS X was beschikbaar voor Steam client op 5 september 2010 en 2 juli 2013 voor Linux via Steam. Valve heeft het spel op 25 december 2013 voor een periode van 24 uur als gratis download vrijgegeven voor alle gebruikers van Steam.
De achtergrond van het spel is ingesteld na de apocalyptische pandemie heeft plaatsgevonden, met de gameplay gericht op vier nieuwe overlevenden, die proberen te vechten tegen de besmette hordes die vertonen kenmerken als die van de zombies. De gameplay heeft vijf campagnes, die de spelers moeten voltooien en hun doel is om te ontsnappen naar veilige huizen, die fungeert als checkpoints. AI Director 2.0 zou de prestaties van de spelers in de gaten houden en het scenario aanpassen voor een dynamische uitdaging, waardoor de gameplay procedureel verandert. De andere nieuwe functies van het spel zijn naar verluidt speciale geïnfecteerde types en melee wapens van verschillende types. Het was op de E3 2009 dat het spel zijn wereldpremière beleefde.

While this game seems to be more of a glorified D.L.C., it earns its spot as one the of the greatest sequels of all time. The graphics are very good for the dated Source Engine. The weapons have a good feel, and the realistic damage to the infected will make feel squeamish quite a lot. A very fun game from beginning to end. (Extra merits for easy modding as well.)

All I can say, is that this game is a **** awesome sequel to Left 4 Dead, ticked all my boxes, nothing negative comes to mind. Awesome! It's better than the first game, then. The biggest achievement, however, is that Valve - who are known to take their time - have managed to put such an enormous wealth of content out in a single year. Left 4 Dead 2 doesn't just add a few new levels and features, it fiddles and increments a formula that few thought needed changing in the first place. The team have managed to infuse their sequel with the exact same kind of nuanced creative energies that usually takes them years, and in doing so they've made last year's accomplished Left 4 Dead look like a simple mod in comparison.
