Compared to NBA 2k, it’s a reason to be ashamed and that game is not perfect too- commentary is quite often off the pace, very repetetive and I only played the game for a week or so- lots of absurd bugs (the most astonishing one for me is when the game mistakes international duty for club games and you get the headline : „Club Germany won with club Portugal”. That’s a 0-day fix for me, yet it still roams free)What this needs is to drop the yearly release schedule and focus on microtransactions.But for that to happen - you, fans and buyers should drop the next game and show them what you demand.I wouldn’t spend my own money on this. Only goalkeepers are too strong which obligates you to only make goals in two or three different ways.But since the last patch, it's become worse, because you need to have a pressure tactic otherwise you will have no chance in Division 4 or above, it's just too the OP but makes Fifa 22 more than Fifa 21 again.So if they go back to the original version it's a good FIFA otherwise only solid. Graphics are okay on XSX and the Sound is great, also not a lot of bugs, all things which aren’t self-evident anymore.

FIFA 22 has improved the feel and smoothness of actions, but there are almost no changes in the game mode and gameplay. The reduction of stand-alone content makes it not very suitable as the first FIFA entry for newcomers.

FIFA 22 makes the leap to the new generation in a conservative way, with slight changes in its gameplay that lay the foundations of what the saga may become in the future. Lovers of football simulators will enjoy its fast pace and large amount of content.

Although the fact some of its modes are far from perfect, it can offer the thrills that football gives to its fans, both online and locally. The much-discussed HyperMotion does its job perfectly and justifies the need for this year's edition, in contrast with previous years. If you consider yourself a football fan, there's no need to hesitate into buying this year's edition.

Despite a full year since the launch of the new console generation, FIFA 22 doesn't offer anything groundbreaking, on or off the pitch. The changes are largely minor and exclusive features are not worth fretting over. It plays a solid game of football, as always, but we're still left waiting for a true next-gen leap.

EA clearly has a lot of things to polish in FIFA 22, and the first update that is already live on PC is the living proof the company is very committed to doing this in the short term.

The only negative for me is the dual entitlement to upgrade to the Xbox Series X version of the game is only accessible if you've bought the Ultimate Edition as its not available with the Standard Edition so you're forced to pay at least an extra £35 if you want the extra features. Hopefully EA changes that so players with the Standard Edition can upgrade too but its hard to say at this time.

With that said there are games that I I feel like I have been beaten fairly by the ai and will accept that but not the scripting loses.GK and Defence feel a bit more challenging to play with and against which I like and can make a match interesting.Overall a solid and fun experience of football with a few flaws and areas of improvement that need fixing. Fifa 22 struggles with a massive identity-crisis. Does it want to be a realistic football simulation or as spectacular as possible? The result is rather disappointing. A soulless football game in which every game feels like a match for the Johan Cruijff cup: you can win it, but it really isn't about anything at all.

Unlike last years release, there aren't too many noticable issues that need improving on either. EA have been afforded more time to get this game to where they need it to be, and they seem to have done exactly that. On the other hand though, there are still modes with untapped potential that EA have to put more focus on in order to appeal to their full market of players. It's a strong release from EA, one which will keep them at the top of the footballing sim market, but without a leading competitor to challenge them, that isn't awfully difficult.

FIFA 22 offers a lot of new elements on next-gen. Gameplay is finally going in a clear direction and provides a clear picture of what to expect from this iteration of FIFA. Career is near unplayable thanks to loads of bugs and glitches, Ultimate Team is still a pay-to-win fest and a lot of modes are clearly less important than cash cow Ultimate Team, which is understandable, but still frustrating.

EA has delivered one of the most in-depth career modes to date, and the new additions across the game’s other modes are most welcome. I do hope to see more iteration across the board, but the gameplay this year feels top notch. It’s a huge step forward for the series, and a proper showcase of what the new consoles are capable of.
