Treasure hunts are awesome,driving feels much better. There are legendary guns,legendary animals,the enemy has ranks with much more defined health bars so you know what kind of damage your guns do on different rank enemies. Music is awesome,really gets you in the mood. Again,far superior to Farcry 5. Looting system is also more thought out since you need materials to craft weapons so you will go into buildings to discover because it will be worth it to find a gear for your next shotgun etc.. im playing on hard-ass mode and purposely didn’t get the binocular perk to make the game more challenging. Played about 6 hours without ever touching a story mission. Bottom line is,this game is the best in the series since Farcry 3. I guess people just looking for stuff to complain about these days. Already complaining about Farcry 6 before its even released because they can i guess..

Whilst the new weapon ranking system wasn’t too bad and added an extra bit of depth to the gameplay, you could also say that it took some of the skill out of the game as you are generally only as good as your gun.

Ehh Far Cry series is getting worse and worse. Pink apocalypse that doesnt make much sense. And a copy of gameplay fron previouse ones. Meh.

Only full-time members of Joseph Seed's cult hooked on bliss will enjoy playing Far Cry: New Dawn from start to finish. The others will eventually get tired of psychedelic palette and recycled content.

Far Cry New Dawn is a ridiculously well-polished and fun to play action game (AI issues aside), with an enjoyable if largely mundane story and villains. It's so hard to negatively criticise too much. It would be unfair to judge this individual game against the wider approach of Ubisoft that some could argue needs to evolve more going into the future. The freedom that this sandbox gives to just shoot things and have fun is clear to see, and on PC the world looks incredible, filled with vivid colours, rich explosions, lush grassland and shimmering blue rivers. The real question following this conclusion to the Hope County arc and all its DLC is where Ubisoft will go next with this franchise. Ultimately it is impossible to separate New Dawn from feeling like an expensive DLC for its predecessor.

The replayable Outposts and Expeditions are a blast (even moreso in co-op) and the mild RPG mechanics of base building is a great start, even if it needs to be expanded upon. However, in a larger sense, the adventure is brought down by a comparatively small size and cookie-cutter bad guys. New Dawn isn’t a terrible experience, but it would have been better served by being delivered as DLC material, not passed off as a full game.

It isn’t the best in the series, and I would recommend playing Far Cry 5 before jumping into this. It’s a direct sequel to 5, so that background would help. Far Cry 5 is also generally a better game and is a more traditional Far Cry experience. But don’t let that stop you from picking up New Dawn. If you’re a Far Cry fan then chances are you will enjoy this game.Despite it being a practical DLC to Far Cry 5, it manages to save face by being $40, rather than $60. It means Ubisoft is able to acknowledge that this entry is lacking in many areas compared to the standards the previous games have set.

If New Dawn is as mute and monotonous about the issues that led to the nuclear war and the philosophies that shape its vision of America, that’s because it’s only interested in serving up a gamified version of survival, logic be damned.

New Dawn adds a bit while keeping everything running the same way. Over the years, I have enjoyed my time with all the Far Cry games and this is yet another one I had a lot of fun with. The setting is both fun and interesting to explore, the expeditions add a new layer, and while not as important as some other games, the RPG elements at least point players in the right direction for improving. Sure, it’s another Far Cry game, but that’s never been a bad thing to me. Pick it up for you’re looking for a smaller scale Far Cry adventure with a few new twists thrown in.

The colours and transformed landscape are stunning, and it is of little consequence to me if this would be a realistic post-apocalyptic landscape; Far Cry has never been about ultra-realism and has been more about creating havoc and accomplishing missions in a fully realized world, which is what this is. It feels like a more realized and expanded DLC that allows you to play with new (and some old) characters in a new way, filled with some of the humour and playfulness of the Far Cry 5.

From a big picture perspective, Far Cry: New Dawn is fine. It hits a lot of checkboxes that have come to define what Far Cry is and manages to wring some newness and intrigue out of its reused map. While the storytelling is even more unfocused than the previous game (though much less disappointing, due to a noticeable walkback on pretense), new gameplay additions like breezy RPG progression and the Expedition missions make it a fun ride all the way through. Far Cry: New Dawn still has a lot of familiar snags, but the overall experience makes for a solid weekend or two of Hollywood-style gaming.

Far Cry New Dawn is a worthy entry to the shooter franchise, but it’ll feel too familiar to fans, and not different enough to those who have been put off by the game’s most recent entries. It’s competently made, with flecks of dark humour and some great action sequences, but aside from a few interesting new mechanics and a fascinating new setting, Far Cry New Dawn is wider than it is deep, the kiss of death for shooter fans currently being swamped with new content.

There's plenty of game here, and it's all been a joy. Far Cry 5 was one of the best games in the series, and yet New Dawn may have just eclipsed it with some fine-tuning and a brave new world to explore. I can hardly wait to see what's next from the series, and I hope it follows in the footsteps of The Father.

Ubisoft brought many of their strengths to the table in Far Cry New Dawn. The gunplay, sights and sounds, and environmental storytelling were great. I’m not sure the light RPG approach worked and would have loved to see more consistency throughout the narrative and from the characters that presented it. Far Cry New Dawn did provide me with a sense of closure in Hope County, and the highs outweighed the lows, but ultimately it left me craving a more complete experience.

Ubisoft has to be careful not to exploit the Far Cry franchise too much. New Dawn is an intermediate Far Cry, which will satisfy the fans waiting for the next major part, but it's nothing exceptional. Nice to play, but clearly not a must-have.

Far Cry New Dawn shares a lot of great similarities with Far Cry 5, but it’s the minor tweaks that allow it to stand as its own title. With so much to do, so many places to explore, and a post-apocalyptic world that is grounded in realism, there is no shortage of entertainment to be had in Hope County. While Mickey and Lou may not seem as threatening as previous instalments’ villains, they and the Highwaymen with their vibrant neon graffiti and motocross-influenced gear are definitely a force to be reckoned with.
