De ontwikkelaar van Crysis 3 The Lost Island CD Key is Crytek, een Duitse spelontwikkelaar en Electronic Arts zijn uitgever. Het is een shooter videospel dat wordt gespeeld vanuit het eerste persoonsperspectief. Het behoort tot de 2011 gelanceerde 'Crysis' serie spel en is de derde aflevering, uitgevoerd op CryEngine 3 game engine. Het spel werd officieel aangekondigd op 16 april 2012 en werd op 19 februari 2013 uitgebracht in Noord-Amerika.
De gameplay gaat over een Nanosuit houder genaamd Prophet, wiens missie het is om wraak te nemen op de leider van Ceph buitenaards ras genaamd 'Alpha Ceph' en de CELL Corporation. "Crysis Warhead's" hoofdrolspeler Psycho vergezelt Prophet in zijn missie en wordt door AI bestuurd. De verhaallijn van het spel is het einde van de Crysis-trilogie. Deze aflevering heeft nieuwe functies binnen de gameplay geïntroduceerd, waaronder de hackfunctie en de nieuwe compoundboog, evenals Rip en Throw, de asymmetrische multiplayer-speltype bekend als de 'Hunter' en de Nanosuit-mogelijkheid. De critici reageerden positief op het spel bij de release en prezen het level design, de multiplayer en de visuals. Het spel had ook verschillende prijzen gewonnen voordat het werd uitgebracht voor het publiek. Commercieel kon het de verwachtingen van het bedrijf echter niet waarmaken.

Beautiful maps with a great sense of nostalgia from the first game in the series. Major downside though is that with an already tiny community, very few players will be playing this DLC making it very hard to find anywhere to play. Should have been a free release but that's a laughable concept to game developers these days, I know.
