Verhaallijn
Neem de controle over de oorlog voor luchtsupermacht in het 41e millennium.
Aeronautica Imperialis: Flight Command brengt de spanning van het Warhammer 40.000-universum naar de stratosfeer in een rijk gedetailleerd luchtgevechtsspel.
Betreed als nooit tevoren de arena van tactische oorlogsvoering in de lucht als je het door oorlog verscheurde luchtruim van het 41e millennium betreedt. Plan je manoeuvres en geef je bevelen, en bid vervolgens tot de keizer (of tot Gork en Mork) terwijl je strategie zich ontvouwt in realtime filmbeelden. Ga de lucht in als de helden van de Imperial Navy en verdedig het Imperium of neem het bevel over de Ork Airwaagh en leid de plundering van de planeet vanuit de lucht, want als het luchtruim wordt beheerst, volgt de controle over het land snel.

The concept behind Aeronautica Imperialis’ turn-based tactical gameplay is neat (your and enemy units move simultaneously, so you need to do your best to predict enemy behavior) but right now I can recommend the game to hardcore Warhammer 40K fans only. Everyone else should wait for the developers to add much more content and variety, because in its current state the game gets boring after an hour.
Aeronautica Imperialis: Flight Command is a mixed bag of dice. It’s a unique concept and the tabletop conversion and combat interpretation feels fantastic, its just a shame that when your head’s out the clouds the rest of the game doesn’t feel quite so special. Fans of strategy titles should definitely take this interesting new title for a spin but don’t expect it to be a long haul flight.
Unfortunately Aeronautica Imperialis: Flight Command is not one of the better Games Workshop adaptations. It is a game that relies far more on luck than judgement or skill, and so is repetitive at best, and frustrating at worst. I like that they’re trying something different in translating the game from tabletop to screen, and the cinematics are a nice system, but it comes at the expense of the gameplay experience.
